Lessons and training

From the walk-trot to the grand prix ring, True North Stables provides lessons to riders of all levels, with an emphasis on helping riders advance their riding to the next level and achieve their goals. Likewise, Caitlyn Shiels and True North Stables offers strong, individualized training programs tailored to meet the needs of each horse. 


Whether the goal is compete in the Low Adult Hunters or the Grand Prix, True North Stables is dedicated to helping riders achieve show ring success on the national stage. The True North team competes annually at events including the Winter Equestrian Festival, HITS Ocala, the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival, the Capital Challenge Horse Show, the Washington International Horse Show, the Pennsylvania National Horse Show, and more.


Board includes stall cleaning twice daily, feed, shavings, and hay.  Full service care includes: professional training rides, two-hour lessons, daily turnout, laundry, grooming, body clipping, tack cleaning, mane pulling, blanketing, and arranging of vet, farrier, and additional medical appointments and services.
