August in Kentucky with Team True North ✨

We had an amazing two weeks at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington with our horses and riders! We are so grateful to everybody and so proud of all the team accomplished.

Technically, team True North was in Kentucky for three weeks as Caitlyn and Charlotte Galley took her pony to PONY FINALS! 🤩 This young rider and her pony had some awesome moments at Pony Finals and are looking forward to accomplishing some big goals come this time next year! We are so excited for Charlotte to welcome Penten’s Dashwood to her team alongside Crown Ridge Finnegan. We cannot wait to see what these cuties accomplish in the coming months, could they be any cuter?!

Our horse and rider teams all had wonderful success and really great riding - for which we are so proud! Highlights include Olivia Galley and her equitation horse Cashman winning the tricolor in the 12 - 14 equitation as well as the 3’3 USHJA medal! We could not be more proud of the work that Olivia has put in and we are so looking forward to the 3’3 medal finals experience in the fall with this pair!

Olivia and her jumper Lionel were also awesome throughout the two weeks, showing to many double clear and fast finishes including multiple wins in the low children’s jumper division, finishing champions of the division week two!

Julie Smith joined the team the first week in Kentucky to show Colibri in the low adult jumpers to great results. Colibri is proudly offered for sale and available to try here in Chicago - learn more here

Taking the week after pony finals off to allow her ponies to rest, Charlotte Galley returned to the show ring the second week, finishing champion and reserve in the small pony division as well as winning the pony medal! These oh so cute pony and rider teams had a great week of riding and showing. 💙🦄

Amanda Hauser met up with the team week two as well, bringing both Parida and Trevor in the jumper and equitation rings with great results. Amanda & Trevor were fast and clear in the high adult classic, finishing third and Parida stepped back in the 3’3 adult medal ring with great rounds and good practice towards the final in September!

True North’s own Cody Wooten had a great two weeks showing two very special horses - both proudly offered for sale!

Iclipse HS was reserve champion in the baby green hunters and Ellie McCarthy’s Wingman had some incredible rounds in the 3’3 performance hunters earlier in the week.

But the biggest joy was seeing Cody and Wingman finish the two weeks with a second place overall finish in the USHJA national derby with over 35 entires! Way to go Cody, Iclipse and Wingman!

Amanda Rusch joined the True North team recently and we were thrilled to welcome her and Hidalgo! These two also joined in the fun the second week in Kentucky in the adult equitation and had some lovely rounds. We are so looking forward to working with these two and to see them accomplish some new goals!

Again, thank you to our team of grooms, our riders, our horses, vets and all of the wonderful people who take care of us throughout the show season. We are back in Chicago for a bit now to allow for some rest and relaxation of our horses and looking forward to a fun fall season for Amanda Hauser and Olivia Galley, and we cannot wait to start packing for Florida! We will be in Wellington this winter, so if you are interested in riding with us or are looking for your next unicorn, send us a message!
